About
by 2050
- Mission
To create demand for sustainable clothing, and to sell only sustainable clothing.
- What we sell
Organic cotton tees. Each piece is printed after you order it, so nothing is made for a shelf and nothing is marked down or thrown out. The range is small on purpose and grows only when a piece meets the standard below.
- How a piece is made
The blank garment is sewn overseas by a maker that publishes its factories and certifications. The label is printed in Brisbane where an Australian printer carries the blank, and in the United Kingdom where none in Australia does yet. Every product page states the maker, the sewing country, the printer and the delivery time.
- The standard
Every fibre certified organic or recycled cotton, with the maker's certificate on record. No polyester, recycled or not.
A piece that does not meet it is not sold. The sustainability report lists what was removed and why, and every environmental statement on this site links to a source on the sources page. Where a maker has not answered a question, the page says so.
- The name
Net zero by 2050 is the target. The mark is a zero that fills as the record improves. Today it is 25 percent full, and the report sets out each step that is done and each that is not.
- Photography
Model photographs on product pages are generated with AI from the garment image. The garment, colour and label are real; the person is not. Each page says so, and photographs of the physical sample are added as they are taken.
- Who runs it
